rolling, pulling, scooting, OH MY!

Our sweet boy is just a couple of weeks away from 8 months. And he's such a handful already. I know I'm going to be one busy mama in a few weeks.
About a month ago, maybe a little more. He started rolling over to get where he wanted to go. We let him play on the floor, on a twin size comforter, well he will go from one end of that to the other. Then he started pulling himself, he will grab onto the blanket and pull himself towards toys and what not. Now, just within the last week, he's been scooting. He learned to get up onto his hands and knees, and he looks like a little worm moving across the floor. Its SO funny to watch, and so amazing. Just 7 and a half months ago he was a tiny little guy in my arms.
Elijah is quite the eater, but has become very picky. Sweet potatoes used to be his favorite, now he gags as soon as he takes the first bite. Its hard to get him to eat fruit thats mixed, and he isn't a fan of the veggie dinners quite yet. We introduced him to the gerber 1st stage crunchy foods. He loves puffs, and those wagon wheel snacks. He makes quite the mess, but its so fun watching him trying to figure out how to eat those things!
He is very interested in Maxx nowa days! He will call (scream) to get his attention. Maxx just looks at him like, you are one crazy baby. Poor Maxx won't know what to do when Elijah is fully mobile!
I just can't believe how fast these last months have gone, all the changes and challenges we have been through. Even though we've had our moments, I so look forward to the future and growing with our little family!

for real this time

I think I've put off getting off this baby weight long enough. I've done all I can with eating right, not eating dinners late and not snacking on the greasy fatty stuff, but that all only goes so far. Tomorrow is day 1 of working out. My goal is to see some sort of progress by Easter, and then by the beginning of June. I'm going to start doing the 30day shred with a friend of mine. I think its so hard to get off track if you are by yourself. If you have someone to sort of be accountable to, it helps. Then I'm going to try and continue our evening walks. They usually last about 20 minutes or so. All that plus drinking lots of water, I hope to see some results!

month 7...where did my baby go?

1st St Patricks Day & 7 months old!

I sit here and type, my baby is rolling around all over the floor. We have a twin size blanket down on our throw rug, toys spread everywhere and he goes from one end to the other. *sigh* When did he get so big so fast?

We started taking a bath in the 'big boy' tub yesterday. We have a yellow ducky blow up tub to put inside the regular tub, he loved it! He splashed around for 15-20 minutes before I washed him and he got out.

As much as I love seeing him grow, learn more and experience fun things, I miss my lil tiny man.
Elijah loves his food. We are trying the 'stage2' foods now. Some are winners, but most he's taken 2-3 bites then made the funniest face and wouldn't eat anymore. He loves to be outside. We sit out on the porch, he plays in the exersaucer and I water the plants, and just hang out with him. He's SO close to getting up onto his knees and crawling. Every time he's on the floor he gets on his knees, just doesn't quiet know what to do from there. He has also started to push himself up to the sitting position, he hasn't yet, but when he's on his side, he'll use his legs as leverage and use his arms to push himself up. Its so crazy to watch, one day he'll get it! I think he's determined to get Maxx! Maxx will lay by the blanket, and as soon as Elijah moves to touch him, Maxx moves, then Elijah will scream at him as if he was saying "Get back here!" Its too funny to watch.

Since he turned 7 months, I've been 1st Birthday party planning in my head. I've been browsing online for the perfect 'theme' and I think I've found it. I really want to try and save $$ and make some of the things myself. We already have a date, and place, thanks to my mom :). I just need to figure out the rest of the details. And, I have 5 months to do so!
